Willoe Privacy Policy
Privacy

Willoe is a consumer pregnancy companion by text. Pregnancy questions can reveal deeply sensitive information, so this policy is written to be direct about what we collect, why we use it, who helps us provide the service, and how you can delete it.
Short version: we use your information to run Willoe, remember the context you ask us to remember, process payment, keep the service safe, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the content of your pregnancy texts for ad targeting.
1. Who This Policy Covers
This policy applies to the Willoe website, SMS/text experience, checkout flow, check-ins, support, and related services. Willoe is not a health care provider, clinic, insurer, or emergency service.
Willoe is a consumer product and is not intended to be used as a HIPAA-covered service unless we separately enter into a written agreement saying otherwise. We still treat pregnancy, health, crisis, and relationship information as sensitive.
2. Information We Collect
- Contact and message information: your phone number, SMS metadata, message content, and delivery/read/typing status from our messaging provider.
- Pregnancy context you provide: due date or stage, age, symptoms, worries, decision preferences, care-team constraints, prior pregnancy context, kids or sibling context, support-person role, milestone interests, and check-in preferences.
- Memory and profile information: short notes distilled from your conversation so Willoe can remember what matters without storing every old message forever.
- Safety information: if you mention urgent medical red flags, self-harm, abuse, unsafe-at-home concerns, or crisis language, we process that text to respond safely.
- Payment information: Stripe customer, subscription, checkout, billing, and cancellation identifiers. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Website and attribution information: landing-page referrer, campaign reference, consent choice, device/browser information, and basic analytics events if you allow analytics cookies or similar technologies.
- Support and legal requests: anything you send us when asking for help, privacy rights, billing support, or account deletion.
3. How We Use Information
- To send and receive Willoe text messages, including onboarding, answers, safety responses, service messages, check-ins you request, and billing notices.
- To personalize the conversation using remembered context, such as your stage, age, preferences, worries, milestone interests, and chosen check-in rhythm.
- To run safety screening before normal answers and avoid continuing normal conversation when a message appears urgent or crisis-related.
- To create Stripe checkout sessions, manage subscriptions, process cancellations, and send trial-ending or payment-related service notices.
- To secure, debug, audit, and operate the service, including rate limits, fraud prevention, uptime checks, and abuse prevention.
- To understand whether marketing led someone to the website, only in the limited way described in the analytics section below.
- To comply with law, enforce our Terms, respond to privacy requests, and protect people, Willoe, or others.
4. AI and Automated Processing
Willoe uses AI models to classify safety risk, draft answers, summarize memory, and create check-ins. We send the minimum context we reasonably need for those tasks to our AI infrastructure providers. The system is designed so safety screening happens before normal answers.
AI can be wrong. Willoe is not medical care or medical advice. Do not rely on Willoe for diagnosis, dosing, treatment, emergency decisions, or decisions that should be made with a licensed clinician.
5. When We Share Information
We share information only with providers and parties that help us run Willoe or where required to protect rights and comply with law.
- Messaging: Sendblue and telecom carriers help send, receive, and route SMS/iMessage-style messages.
- AI and memory: OpenRouter, model providers, Supabase/Postgres, and vector/embedding infrastructure help process answers and memory.
- Hosting and operations: Vercel and related infrastructure host the website and API.
- Payments: Stripe processes checkout, subscriptions, billing portal sessions, trial reminders, and cancellations.
- Analytics: if enabled, analytics providers process limited website events and campaign attribution. We do not send your pregnancy text content to analytics for ad targeting.
- Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect people from serious harm, fraud, abuse, or security threats.
6. What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not sell or share your pregnancy text content for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not use your raw phone number as the database key.
- We do not intentionally collect information from children under 18.
- We do not replace your clinician, diagnose you, prescribe, or provide emergency services.
7. SMS Is Useful, But Not Perfectly Private
Willoe runs over text messaging. Texting is convenient, but it is not the same as a private medical portal. Your mobile carrier, phone operating system, message app, cloud backup settings, and messaging providers may process or store message metadata or content outside Willoe's direct control.
8. Retention, STOP, and DELETE
- Recent conversation: Willoe keeps a limited recent-message window so the text thread has context.
- Memory: Willoe keeps distilled notes and profile context until you delete them, opt out, or we no longer need them to provide the service.
- STOP: text STOP, unsubscribe, quit, opt out, revoke consent, end messages, stop texting me, or no more texts to opt out. Willoe deletes health profile and memory data and keeps only a hashed opt-out marker so we do not resume texting you.
- DELETE: text DELETE to erase your Willoe profile, memory, recent conversation, and usage state. If you have an active subscription tied to the profile, Willoe attempts to cancel it through Stripe.
- Billing records: Stripe and Willoe may keep limited billing, tax, fraud-prevention, cancellation, or legal records as required or allowed by law.
- Backups and logs: deleted information may remain briefly in backups or operational logs before expiring, but it is not used for normal service after deletion.
9. Security
We use safeguards intended for sensitive information, including hashed phone identifiers, encryption of health profile fields and recent message content, provider secrets, webhook verification, access controls, rate limits, and deletion paths. No internet or SMS system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.
10. Your Choices and Rights
- You can text STOP to opt out of messages.
- You can text DELETE to delete your Willoe profile and memory.
- You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or explain the information associated with your phone number.
- You can decline website analytics in the cookie notice.
- You can manage or cancel paid subscriptions through Stripe links provided in the service or by asking Willoe for billing help.
Depending on where you live, including California and other US states, you may have additional rights to know, access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit use of sensitive personal information, and appeal certain privacy decisions. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
11. Analytics and Advertising
Willoe may use a landing-page reference and consent-gated analytics to understand which ads or recommendations brought people to the website. Analytics is not meant to receive your pregnancy conversation, SMS content, medical-ish questions, due date, symptoms, or memory notes.
12. International Use
Willoe is currently designed for users in the United States. If you use Willoe from outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed in the United States and other places where our providers operate.
13. Changes
We may update this policy as Willoe changes. If the changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as updating this page, changing the effective date, or sending a service notice where appropriate.
